My parents moved
to Hayfork in 1947 and opened the town’s first pharmacy. I attended
Hayfork Elementary School and Hayfork High School in the l950’s and
early 60’s. In 1967 I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from
California State University, Chico. I also have many units of post
graduate studies in forestry and biology. I served in the United
States Air Force in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I am retired from
a twenty-eight year career with the United States Forest Service.
I have been
involved in community service in the Hayfork area for 35 years as a
volunteer fireman, school board member and a director of Trinity
County Waterworks District I. I worked part-time for the Watershed
Research and Training Center in training and small diameter
utilization programs for nine years after my Forest Service
retirement . I served on the Trinity County Grand Jury for two
years. Until my seating on the Board of Supervisors, I served on
the Board of Directors for Hayfork Fire Protection District and the
County Planning Commission. I continue to serve on the Trinity
County Resource Conservation and Development District and the
Hayfork Chamber of Commerce.
I have been
married for 36 years to my wife, Judy. We have raised two children,
Tony and Jennifer. We have five grandchildren. We are active
community members and continue to support community service
organizations and volunteerism. I strongly support sound fiscal
responsibility and accountability, open government, and public
service. I look forward to helping Trinity County meet the
challenges ahead. |
