Mission
Statement
We
will provide women, infants, and children healthy food and the
knowledge and opportunity to make healthy choices that is consistent
with local, federal, and state guidelines. By placing people
first, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect, we can promote the
health and well being for all Californians to enjoy a higher quality
of life.
Description of Services:
W.I.C.
is an income eligible program that teaches families healthy eating
habits through workshops and individual counseling. W.I.C.
provides special checks to buy healthy foods such as milk, juice,
eggs, cheese, cereal, dry beans, and peanut butter. W.I.C.
supports breastfeeding by offering workshops with a Certified
Lactation Educator and providing a 24 hr "Warm-Line" for
participants to use whenever a breastfeeding question should arise.
