Services being offered by IT to county departments
Electronic Mail:
IT coordinates the administration of the
County's e-mail system. The e-mail application includes: electronic mail,
messaging, and personal/group calendar functionality. The County's e-mail
system also interfaces with the Internet to provide Internet e-mail access
to all employees.
File Server Backup:
Backup services available across the wide area network
consist of a high capacity drive which currently performs a backup of
registered departmental file servers on a daily basis. Backups are
performed at night to minimize disruption to departmental business
activities.
Internet/Intranet:
IT provides Internet access utilizing a fractional T1
line and maintains the County Web site.
Database Programming/Support:
IT staff are currently developing and supporting
various database applications including an Integrated Criminal Justice
system, Payroll, Property Management, Recorder's Imaging System etc.
Wide Area Network:
Information Technology maintains the County Campus Type
Area Network which services County offices within the Weaverville basin .
County Departments located outside of the County Court House are connected
to the network utilizing ADSL technology.
