Invasive
Weed Information
The
Trinity County Weed Management Cooperative is a
multi-agency and stakeholder group that meets four times
a year to discuss and implement invasive species
management based upon consensus. The purpose of the
group is to have a collaborative, effective and
environmentally sound effort made to educate the public
and make weed management strategies using scientifically
based integrated pest management principles to reduce
the spread of noxious weeds.
The Nature Conservancy
has a fantastic database of all kinds of
Invasive plant species, ways to treat and
prevent spreading of noxious weeds, planting
alternatives, and detailed illustrations.

Weaver
Basin Wetlands
The
Weaver Basin Wetlands were completed in 2004 as a joint
project implemented by the Five Counties Program, TCRCD,
and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The
wetlands, which are located adjacent to Weaver Creek,
were constructed on a 58 acre easement in the
Weaverville Industrial Area Complex. The purpose of the
project is to provide Flood Protection, Water Quality
Improvement, Habitat Improvement, and Recreational Use. |
