I am Lorrac Craig, your Sheriff.  You elected me because you felt that I was the best man for the job.  I said I would take the job seriously, be honest with you in its operation, and put your safety first.  My first term was seriously impacted by the loss of substantial funding requiring a large reduction in staffing.  That crisis was met head on by my administration and public safety needs have been met.  The Department has seen technological advances to more effectively meet your needs.  New funding is aiding in the hiring of new officers with the goal of getting back to providing proactive law enforcement.  I have dedicated 27 years of service to the citizens of this county in a variety of forms including 18 years with the Sheriff’s Department.  I am concerned about communicating the truth, defending personal rights to include gun ownership, as well as providing effective law enforcement.  The Office of Sheriff is complex.  It requires a commitment beyond one term to become knowledgeable and effective.  I am an active Sheriff, involved with my officers’ cases.  As your Sheriff, I will continue to provide you with the best law enforcement our resources can provide.
