I believe that better service is the direct result of better leadership.  I am a career law enforcement veteran with 33 years of well-rounded experience and training.  Following a successful career of 28 years with the Trenton, New Jersey Police Department, I retired as a Senior Robbery/Homicide Detective.  I moved with my family to Trinity County in 2001, and now serve as a Detective with the Sheriff’s Department.  My law enforcement philosophy is simple.  I believe that People have a right to feel safe in their homes and communities, and that when help is needed, deputies must be available to respond.  As your Sheriff, I will immediately increase patrol coverage, starting by making better use of officers already available within the department.  I will implement an on-call schedule to ensure that a deputy is always available.  I will promote a more professional response to service calls, and I will aggressively attack the Methamphetamine problem currently plaguing our county.  As a leader, a Sheriff must be able to make tough decisions.  I have the experience, leadership training, and energy to make those decisions and the necessary changes that will make our Sheriff’s Department better able to serve you.
