Lightning Fires in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest - September 6, 2019

TRINITY COUNTY – The U.S. Forest Service is currently engaged in fighting several fires in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Thunderstorms in the area Wednesday have ignited at least 19 fires. The USFS South Fork and Trinity River Management Units have identified fires in the areas of Southern Trinity, Hayfork, Trinity Lake, Canyon Creek, and Downriver. Resources are on scene at many fires, and are making their way to more remote fires.

 

The Forest Service will continue to use air resources and ground patrols to identify new fire starts. To report a new fire, please call 911.
