Public Release
In connection with the November 7, 2023 closed session matter involving Significant Exposure to Litigation, One Potential Case, Complaint of Alleged Harassment Against a Member of the Board of Supervisors, the Board of Supervisors, by a unanimous 5-0 vote, authorized the following statement and information for public release:
In response to a complaint of harassment and related concerns, the Trinity County Board of Supervisors caused for an impartial attorney investigation to be conducted by Oppenheimer Investigations Group LLP (OIG) and for the retaining of outside legal counsel, Rubin E. Cruse, Jr. with Renne Public Law Group, to separately provide legal advice to the County concerning the investigation.
Attached is a formal public statement by Mr. Cruse stating the conclusions reached based on the OIG Investigation Report. The Trinity County Board of Supervisors accepts the OIG Investigation Report and the conclusions reached.
The Trinity County Board of Supervisors supports Supervisor Cox in her role as Chair as well as in her various roles on boards and committees as assigned by the Board of Supervisors.
