In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a federal, state, and locally funded program designed to provide assistance to those eligible aged, blind, and disabled individuals who, without this care, would be unable to remain safely in their own homes. In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) will help pay for services so that recipients can remain safely in their own home. To be eligible, you must be over 65 years of age, or disabled, or blind. Disabled children are also eligible for IHSS. IHSS is considered an alternative to out-of-home care, such as nursing homes or board and care facilities. Please note that in order to receive IHSS, the Applicant must be on full-scope Medi-Cal and may still have a share of cost (based on income).
The easiest way to apply for services is for the Applicant to call the IHSS office at (530) 623-8209. You may also come into the office and apply in person.
If you know someone who is in need of IHSS, call the IHSS office at (530) 623-8209 to make a referral. You may also come into the office and make a referral in person. IHSS staff will contact the Applicant to start the application process.
