Transfer Sites Information

TRANSFER SITE HOURS OF OPERATION AND PERMITTED WASTE
All sites are closed on County recognized holidays

Visit the updates page or call us at 530-623-1326 x9200 for information concerning variations to this information.

PLEASE NOTE: The hours of operation at the transfer stations represent the hours that the gate is open and closed. As such, it is important to plan your trip to these facilities to ensure that you are ready to exit the facility by the closing time. Customers who attempt to enter the facility without adequate time to dump their garbage or recyclables may be turned away. Please plan your trips accordingly!

For those transfer sites that accept clean brush:  Due to agricultural disposal restrictions, noxious weeds (blackberry, yellow star thistle, scotch broom, etc.) cannot be accepted as brush at any of the sites.

OVERSIZED AND BULKY ITEMS:

There are length restrictions at all sites, which limit construction debris, piping, wire, irrigation lines and similar materials to 4-foot lengths. Any bulky or oversized materials (tarps, furniture, etc.) must either be cut in 3 to 4-foot lengths or be reduced to the most minimum volume possible.

Solid Waste reserves the right to reject any load that may damage containers, trucks, heavy equipment or facilities; and to determine fees by weight or volume as the attendant deems appropriate for the nature of the load at the Weaverville Transfer Station.

TREATED WOOD WASTE:
According to state regulation, treated wood waste must be handled as a separate waste stream due to the chemical preservatives used to protect the wood from insects and decay and cannot currently be accepted at the transfer sites.
